Lead Truck Driver Program
How do truck drivers make more money and help others with their
driving careers? Our Lead Driver Program is the answer. At CRST, our
drivers take pride in teaching new CDL holders to build careers in
trucking while earning great pay, up to $.49 per split mile pay.
Trainer drivers teach new drivers how to navigate the early stages
of their careers. Lead Drivers must be 21 years old, have a hazmat
endorsement and six months recent OTR trucking experience including
winter driving experience
Train Your Driving Partner
Our "Train Your Partner" program is a great way for an experienced
driver to bring a co-driver into the trucking industry and be their Lead
Driver. The new driver can get their CDL through CRST’s sponsored
training, come in as a recent truck driving school graduate or have
little to no experience.
This is how it works:
- CRST helps partner get CDL truck driving license
- Team members go through driving orientation after their CDL is earned
- Lead Truck Driver course is taken on last day of truck driver
orientation, to learn policies and procedures for training new drivers
- Driving partners train together for 28 days (Lead Driver Pay in effect), then, you both get 5-6 days off
- When driving resumes, partner driving teams are out for 21 days, home for 4-5 days

3-Man Driving Teams (20/10)
CRST Expedited's Three Person Team Driver Program (20/10 Program)
teams three professional truck drivers that live in the same area to run
for 20 days and then come home for 10 consecutive days. Two drivers are
on board the truck at all times, routed through home areas every 10
days to switch driving partners.
You work 20 days with 10 days off at home. Because of truck
utilization, 20/10 drivers earn similar paychecks to teams driving a
full month - the best combination between driver home time and miles/pay
you'll find in the industry.
NEW PROGRAM: We utilize Independent Contractors as Lead Driver trainers.
This is a very successful program since 70% of the revenue goes to
the truck. CRST pays the student wage, so you do not have that as a
cost. Instead, you receive the revenue generated by the student's miles.
Through this program, you can double your profits. Train your driving
partner and run with them as a team!
