Modesto's Earth Day festivities Saturday
Bicycling, recycling and other ways of treating the planet kindly will be celebrated Saturday at the Earth Day in the Park Festival.
The city of Modesto is organizing the free event, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Graceada Park, on Needham Street at Sycamore Avenue.
The 22nd annual festival features educational booths, food and entertainment. Boyett Petroleum will collect paper, cardboard, electronic waste and ink-jet and laser cartridges for recycling, raising money for a planned dog park. A locked area for bicycle parking will be provided.
